National Relaxation Day
Today is National Relaxation Day!
The annual holiday was started by 9 year old Sean Moeller. This brilliant kid told his local Michigan paper “People don’t think enough about relaxing. They think too much about working, and that’s not good because if you work too hard, then you can get a fever or get run-down and maybe even get sick.”
And...Voila an entire day dedicated to winding down and kicking back!
Here are some great ideas of how to make the most of this all to needed holiday.
I'm packing today for our official Family Summer Vacation in Providence, RI so there won't be too much relaxing for me. But I will absolutely be using some of these techniques during our trip!
Stretch Out Your Favorite Morning Ritual
Coffee? Check. Newspaper? Check. Favorite Playlist? Check! Hang out at home and actually read the whole paper. Or catch up on your favorite magazines or that book you've been meaning to read. Today's the day to make the time!
Take The Day Off From Technology
Nothing make you feel more relaxed than putting down your phone. Due to a mishap we had two days with no phone, TV. or internet. It was amazing how much longer the nights felt (in a good way). And how relaxed we all felt after sitting on the porch watching the sunset just enjoying each others company.
Do Something Frivolous
You know all those things that you always want to try but they fall to the bottom of your list because you just don't have the time to waste.....well go for it! It's your day why not do something you really want to and will enjoy. After all John Lennon said, "time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted."
Do Absolutely Nothing
In a hammock if you can....need I say more
TAKE IT EASY!
