Indoor Ideas For A Snowday

Indoor Ideas For A Snowday

Were getting a HUGE snowstorm today. It should total about 12 inches. NYC Mayor cancelled school on Monday 24 hours before the snow was even supposed to start. We've gone to the grocery store and know we're going to be stuck inside for one day maybe two.

The big question is what do we do inside all day long? We are not really indoor people so staying inside for two whole days us kind of leaving us scratching our heads.

Marcelo and I put together a list of anything and everything you can do during a snowstorm.

Plan Your Summer Vacation

The best time to think up your dream warm weather vacation? When it's freezing outside. Go through magazines, research flights and hotels on the web. Since your all together it's the perfect time to get everyone's thoughts and ideas.

Make an Awesome Breakfast

Pancakes, french toast, bacon, that killer omelet you haven't made in years. Make your favorite breakfast why not you don't have to run out the door. Then enjoy it leisurely with some hot coffee. Sounds like heaven!

Nap

When was the last time you had a daytime nap? Relive your childhood and take an uninhibited, no alarm clock, midday nap in a cozy place.

Happy Hour

Assuming it's noon somewhere, use this lazy day to whip up a cocktail, favorite glass of wine, or a delicious spiked warm drink to enjoy. Add some cheese, olives, grapes and nuts and you've got the perfect mini happy hour.

Living Room Camp Out

Have a little camp-out with comfy pillows, snacks, games, a movie or a good book. If the power goes out add a few candles and you've got a real camp out.

Take a Luxurious Bath

Get your bubble bath going and make it extra luxurious with nice music, candles, and perhaps a nice book or beverage. And, if you have kids, an extra fun daytime bath with plenty of toys and bubbles can be a fun change from the usual nightly routine.

Indoor Fort

This is a great one if you have kids or just feel adventurous. Transform your living room into a fun fort using chairs and blankets to make a cozy hideout for the day.

Catch Up With Family and Friends

Break out the iPhone and start face timing all those friends and relatives that you mean to call each weekend but never get to. Chances are they're stuck inside as well!

Video Game Marathon

A day stuck inside provides a wonderful opportunity for a video game marathon. Or, involve the kids and do Wii competitions or learning games on your tablet or computer.

Popcorn and Movie Day

Sort of a given on any winter day, but pop up some popcorn and get comfy on the couch with your favorite movies.

Photo Album

All those photos you've taken and swear one day you'll organize into family albums. What better time than now.

A Good Read

Curl up with a good book on the couch and read away.

Beauty Treatments

You know that face mask that has to stay on for 30 minutes so you always say "I'm too tired I'll do it tomorrow". Go for it! Give yourself a nice manicure/pedicure, a relaxing scrub, it's a good day to beautify and relax.

Stay Warm!
