DIY Valentine's Day Gift: Heart Shaped Ice Cream Sandwiches
Valentine's Day is next week.
I've been so busy with our Hunny Bunny that I almost forgot.
We don't do much for Valentine's Day. But we do exchange gifts!
My husband always buys me something.
I prefer to make something personal for him each year.
Last year I was pregnant and just too tired to pull anything together.
So this year I want to make up for it a bit by making Heart Shaped Ice Cream Sandwiches!
My husbands favorite ice cream flavor is Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup so I decided to do brownies for the sandwiches and peanut butter ice cream for the filling.
Take a look below for the easy instructions.
To make things simple use your favorite brownie mix and ice cream from the store.
Mix the brownies according to the instructions.
Spread the batter on a baking pan. The batter should be spread thin enouh so the brownies don't rise more than an inch.
After the brownies have cooked and cooled, cut then using a heart shaped cookie cutter.
Then remove the brownie hearts from the pan with a spatula.
Soften the ice cream on the counter for a bit.
Then stir it in a bowl to make it more pliable for spreading.
Gently distribute the softened ice crem on one side of the sandwich using a silicone spatula.
Place the other half of the sandwich on top and Voila!
Serve immediately or freeze in an airtight container.
