What To Watch This Weekend: Loving
Marriage is an inherent right.
That was the Supreme Court decision on the marriage of the Loving's.
Watching Loving is uncomfortable and sad. Hearing people's prejudices out loud always is.
The most uncomfortable thing for me watching this movie was knowing that while this happened in the 60's it is still relevant to today.
There are people in the United States right now who would still like the world to work this way.
There are people who still believe in denying others their fundamental rights.
Watching Loving all I could think was why should anyone's life be difficult and painful because they love another person?
Why do people need to fight at to be a family.
This movie is a wonderful reminder of how far we have come. And how much further we still have to go.
